The Learning Journey
The learning journey is a journal that belongs to you and your child with contributions from parents/carers, children and your child's key person.
We would like this journal to include photographs of family, pets, holidays and enjoyable occasions in your child's life.
The journal will also include observations on your child's development and samples of their work.
It is our intention that your child's learning journey will be available to you and your child to look at any time, and we will be sharing the journal with your child as we add to it during pre-school time.
When your child finishes pre-school the document will be given to you and your child.
Partnership With Parents
At Long Clawson Pre-School we value the relationship we build with parents and their important role in sharing information about their child's interests and development. This allows us to plan successfully for their learning and further development.
We operate an "open door" policy and invite parents for regular informal updates on their children's progress.

Transition To School
Long Clawson Pre-School have established strong links with local primary schools and endeavour to ensure that all children in our care are nurtured and supported through the transition period. We encourage reception teachers to visit our setting to meet the children, talk about their interests and share their learning journeys.
